Hmm.. The difference between the Bible thumper and the Gucci wearing, glittering smiley motivational speaker is quite clear!
‘Get outta the way, Pal! The DAMAGENT goat roper comin’ through!’

Say this quick prayer and you are on the fast track to heaven. Hang on. This is going to be fun!!!

The car is converted…but are the people inside?

Why is that AC/DC song suddenly very relevant in light of this picture. He’s certainly on a highway somewhere.
Comment by Dominic — May 22, 2012 @ 3:09 am
Pastoring is mighty hard work. Some don’t like it being that way, but then they fail to pastor.
I expect the car is next seen, round the corner, crashed and burning.

The liberal arminian mantra, “you gotta hold on loosely but don’t let go”.

Looks like a “hip” youth pastor entertaining his “flock.”
Comment by Carol — May 22, 2012 @ 1:39 pm
Interesting to note that the faces on the sheep standing with the true shepherd are as confused as the shepherd himself watching the car speed past them.
The road is wide and fast….that leads to destruction….
Can’t drive over 55 on the straight and narrow…
Comment by Janis — May 22, 2012 @ 7:45 pm
Carol: I know I am being pedantic, but it is actually strait (not straight) and narrow. Nevertheless, your point is right on the target…and that’s what counts.

Well done, Mr. Duncan!

The things you learn on the Sandwich! @ Janis & Carol: As a linguistic pedant you’ve got me thinking (and googling!), and I came up with this:

Thanks for pointing that out, my own typos can hinder my point…but it does cause one to ponder such things.
I will add by saying this, if you take the WIDE way, you’ll end up in dire straits….
Actually, the fast track would be a carload of goats…not sheep!
Or, should I say, Goats in sheep’s clothing….Hmmmm
Comment by Janis — May 23, 2012 @ 10:24 am
Thank you, Helen. That was an interesting article. I see I was not far off in my self-assessment of being a pedant. Even the internet says I am one! Oh, dear….

Wonderfully done!

Should not the gospel be contextualized to the 21st Century American
mindset? … uh, no!
Comment by Carol — May 29, 2012 @ 6:46 pm
Oh, like stop using the example of a “shepherd” by replacing that with high tech motivational speaker??? Or perhaps a tatooed, body pierced guy with Hawaiian shirt and Bermuda shorts?
Comment by Les — May 30, 2012 @ 2:47 pm
My first thought is those sheep need seat belts but then again they shouldn’t be in the car in the first place.
Comment by Carol — May 30, 2012 @ 7:10 pm
Again, the shepherd in the fast car has little care for his flock if he doesn’t have them protected with safety belts. How many parallels to the fact of fast talking false shepherds who lure unsuspecting sheep into their fast track down the slippery slope.

Is that Jesus driving?
Comment by St. Lee — June 6, 2012 @ 12:22 pm
Woodencross, we can tell that it must be an undersheperd driving the car because of the proverb that says “God rides a Harley.”
Comment by Steve — June 6, 2012 @ 6:46 pm
Beware of the ba-ah-ah-ah-ah-ed shepherds.

The shepherd in the convertible is “cool and sexy” alright, but does he wear v-necks and skinny jeans?
