Oooh.. This might step on some toes. I do believe that, so far, Tim Tebow is presenting an excellent witness to the world for Christ. But we must not put him above Jesus. Tebow is still a sinner as we all are. Yet, he can still be commended for his behavior and witness so far.

Ahhh, the irony. We complain about the idolatry lavished on people who play for a living then idolize a young man because he happens to be a Christian. I do agree with SavedGirl – Tebow has seemed pretty unaffected by it all.

You won’t be stepping on any toes in Australia SavedGirl – we don’t know who this bloke Tebow is!!! Have you guys heard of Brent Kite? He plays real football. Suffice to say that it must be so hard to be a sinner saved by grace attempting to live up to the elevated (and unrealistic) expectations of an adoring Christian public. But it can be done, just ask Angus!

Maybe everybody would know who it was if you were to ask
“What would Cliff Richard do?”

I’m sorry, I was in my Tebow kneel. Come again? <;o)

Hey Stephen, I prefer the 15 man game, but either code is better than AFL!

Hey Alan – I’m with you! Brad Thorn would be the Christian equivalent to Tebow I would think. But I summise that Americans would be more passionate about their sport stars than us?? It seems that US culture has a propensity to elevate individuals to a pretty scary status. Hey Dominic; is Cliff Richard an evangelical given his public views on same-sex “marriage”?

I laughed out loud when I saw this – and I’m a Brit married to an Australian (@ Dominic & Stephen!),but I HAD had the benefit of enlightenment through another blog http://airocross.com/2011/12/09/tim-tebow-christian-evangelism/ ,so saw the joke, heartily!

Pray that Tebow stays strong in his faith and continues to glorify Christ.

Guess what!! Tim Tebow has made front page news in a major Australian newspaper! http://www.smh.com.au/sport/tim-tebow-the-evangelical-christian-footballer-who-is-gods-gift-to-sponsors-and-a-us-national-phenomenon-20120111-1pu6q.html

@ Stephen: GREAT article! He is being powerfully used to glorify God and further His Kingdom. It has some stats I hadn’t known, like twitter! Pray for him! Pray against the enemy! FYI, here’s a blog on Tebow by our pastor, Rick Myatt: http://www.theanchorchurch-nc.org/joomla172/media-resources/our-pastors-blog, see Thursday, 12 January 2012. Right now it’s the second blog down. Or just search “Tebow” on the blog page. Objective look at the pros and cons of having a sports personality be an ambassador for Christ.
