If I didn’t know any better, it seems that Brian McLaren can wrap his arms around the true gospel after all. Although I still doubt it. But if God can change my vile heart He can change a doubting heart also.

PoMo sits next to my NOOMA video collection. A match made in heaven… but then again, what else is there?

*blurt*
I just taught Romans 16:18 on the Lords Day. We had three examples of “18,… such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.”
Here were the examples:
Rob Bell
Harold Camping
Jay Bakker
After the exegesis and the “research” I *felt* like I had been pumping septic tanks.
Thanks for the cuddly perspective it is better than splattering feces.

Angus, could you give me a bulk discount if I were to order about 5000 of those? I think they would go like hot cakes at Heaven Fest.
I think the people in the audience would buy some too!

How can I be sure that this is really a good idea?

Great idea Bereanwarrior, you’ve given me an idea: could we rush a few thousand over to England urgently for this weekend? http://www.bigchurchdayout.com/uploads/2010/11/Inspire-Article-March-2011-1.pdf

What is PoMo and NOOMA? (I would probably enjoy the jokes even more if I had insider information!) Thanks for humoring one not-in-the-know!

Shawn – PoMo = Post Modern
Nooma = a phonetic spelling of pneuma which is Greek for wind. Pneuma is translated (and rightly so) as spirit in the New Testament. (See John 3:6,8)
Rob Bell makes videos under the word Nooma.

Speaking on behalf of the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Bears), I find it very sad that poor defenceless teddy bears have been dragged into such compromising positions. While humans are welcome to do this to themselves (as long as they don’t take any others with them) why harm teddy bears?
What’s that, the “rspB” stands for “birds”?! Oh…
Who looks stupid now…
Oh yeah – it’s still that bloke holding the bear!

This is the best one yet! Who writes these things?

I think the toys should be globs of mercury — not only is it pleasant to the eyes, and to be desired like silver to make one wealthy, but it speeds the soul to judgment. What more could one want? AND it saves the bears, so it’s politically correct. A win-win “WINNER!” situation. No?
