The seekers will, however, show up to watch.

The Pastor decided to replace the age-old “…Father,Son,and Holy Spirit”,with the much more relevant,”…the cage goes into the water, you go into the water, the shark’s in the water…”!

“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?” — Rom 6.3, ESV.
Or some kind of death, anyway.

Look, it’s Jesus getting baptized! Oh, no wait. That’s a woman, sorry.

B.P. week wasn’t very popular either after old Widow Olson came up from the water with tar balls in her bonnet. She did however attract the attention of Mr. Crenshaw who owns the local “Grease Monkey”, and they were married six months later.

The traveling Baptismal met with an abrupt end at Sea World, when they tried to baptize new converts in with the killer whales…they were trying to tie in the story of Jonah…and it wasn’t on a positive note when the pastor was not recovered after 3 days in the belly of Shamu…

From the Didache 7:3 and following: “But if thou hast not living water, then baptize in other water; and if thou art not able in cold, then in warm. But if thou hast neither or if a shark doth inhabit the water, then pour water on the head thrice in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

And who would have thought that the Baptists would have a shark in their baptismal???

Tured out to be their “Jump the Shark” episode… Now one can only find the church’s sermons in syndication on TBN.

I think that the ice cold baptism that I experienced was much less shocking to say the least!
