The kids belt needs to be lower

Tim, the kid doesn’t wear a belt. And I really want to make some snarky comment about being offended about something, anything, but Thursday is my play nice day.

Jeff, I’m offended you’re not offended. So is Friday your snark day?

As guys get older the belt keeps rising. By the time they’re ninety they don’t need a shirt. Pants and a hat will do.

When the belt meets the armpits, you know that your race is almost run! Or..they start using suspenders…

I love it when they wear the belt AND suspenders.Does that indicate that the Truth is too heavy to bear with just a belt?

belt and braces, that’s what I say, always use belt and braces

I’m greatly offended! I’m a Golden Ager, and I can’t remember where I put my belt OR suspenders.

LOL. Bobby, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your comment. I know you won’t remember this, but I wanted to tell you anyway.

“I love it when they wear the belt AND suspenders.”
Er, umm, I resemble that remark… Without the suspenders I become a plumber rather quickly… Now, I don’t want to hear anymore cracks about the belt & suspenders thingy ok? That’ll be enough of that.

Very funny, but the Youth Bible should be the personal size, and the old guy should have the “Behemoth Print” super sized ESV.

Is that the youth group’s “helmet of salvation” – a sideways baseball cap?

It’s called FAIL-SAFE: They don’t trust using a belt only (by itself) so they use suspenders as a back-up (just in case the belt fails). They don’t trust using suspenders alone either, so they put on a belt too, along with the suspenders, just in case the suspenders fail.

And I for one appreciate the precautionary measures. A gentleman I knew wasn’t using a back-up system and after I left the store I had to tell my daughter how proud I was of her for not laughing when his belt system failed.

How about belt, suspenders and duct tape in the event there is a “belt malfunction or suspender malfunction”. And it’s really bad if these things happen during a potluck dinner or church picnic!

So does using suspenders as a backup for the belt of faith make them the suspenders of exhortation?
-
Comment by Don — July 30, 2010 @ 9:53 pm
Naaaa, they suspend truth and allow for a “leap of faith,” also keeping the gird of your loins from ending up on the tops of your shoes of peace.

Maybe, but if a golden ager exhorts someone younger they are the suspenders of exhortation. Paul couldn’t include them because they weren’t invented yet.

“The suspenders of exhortation.” Hahahahahahah…!

Belts of truth with the buckler of faith. We don’t want to keep anyone in suspenders, but any means of support is vital whether they be youth, married or senior. But there is one segment of the Christian population that has not been included, Single/Widowed Adults Group…Now don’t let anyone out of the belt loop…okay?

LOL! I will not be able to keep a straight face when I next see a geezer in suspenders, so I shall have to rely upon the helmet of salvation to cover my guffaws. Whatever works… but then I remember i should not depend on works to save me.
