The really “with it” churches serve Red Bull or that 5 hour energy drink.

Firkin sized re-fillable Coffee barrels with cup holder adapters are now available in the lobby…

A really relevant church would provide free caffeine patches ;)

This is why we demand plush theater seating with built in cup and snack holders! For heaven’s sake, how do they expect us to enjoy our weekly “Gospeltainment” otherwise?

I start chewing a piece of gum when I begin to doze off. Sometimes my wife will pick up on it before I do, and reach in her purse and hand me a piece without being asked. It sure beats an elbow in the ribs.

    Hey Sandy:

GOSPELTAINMENT….that’s hilarious!!! The coffee just came flying out of my nose.

Those high octane energy drinks are all the rage, not to keep awake from boring services any longer, but during the powerpoint presentations!

A good hard wooden pew does the trick as well or better.

Yes Ladies and Gents. And if you act now you’ll receive Tazer-matic to give extra emphasis to those extra special sermon points!

  • Comment by Dominic — July 27, 2010 @ 3:39 am

For some reason, in my congregation, they just won’t put the coffee machine out to be used…

    I wonder why?

  • Comment by Jason — July 27, 2010 @ 7:30 am

This is probably the best title I’ve seen at Sacred Sandwich.

When I was a kid the preachers kept you awake by shouting and beating the pulpit with their Bible. What ever happened to those good old days?

  • Comment by Les — July 27, 2010 @ 7:36 am

We always had coffee after the service when I was younger I guess so everyone would be good and awake before driving home. What does it say about the sermon when they serve it before the service?

  • Comment by Bill — July 27, 2010 @ 8:26 am

Hey, it also works for preachers. Makes boring congregations seemingly perk up!

  • Comment by Carol — July 27, 2010 @ 9:29 am

The next thing you’ll be seeing personal coffee makers at each row of pews….so they don’t even have to bother getting up and going to the refreshment stand! Don’t bother passing the collection plate, just pass the plate of donuts please…!

The reason I picked the church we’re in is because they allow coffee in the sanctuary.
    Well, that and expository preaching.

Hey… isn’t that the guy in the chair from XIANITY?

  • Comment by Jim Pemberton — July 28, 2010 @ 11:25 am

You know how faithful you’ve been in going to church by the coffee stains in your Bible.

  • Comment by Jeremiah Main — August 2, 2010 @ 8:18 pm

it’s too bad that a healthy lifestyle with a goodnight of rest the night before isn’t viewed by more Christians as a spiritual discipline

  • Comment by mike — August 4, 2010 @ 4:42 pm

    i prefer tea.
