This is great! May I post this to my Facebook?

  • Comment by Angus — July 6, 2010 @ 10:41 am

Sure, Jeff. There’s a “Share to Facebook” icon you can click on at the bottom left corner of the post.

… it’s off to Farmville with ye!….so Farmville is the result of sin…. Ok, I can buy that.

Farmville where you annoy your friends and family with all your posting and begging for help! Too bad we can’t use Mafia Wars to put out hit contracts in Farmville…. oh, yeah, right… Cain started Mafia Wars from Farmville didn’t he.

Because we all know the cyberworld is really more real than the real world of reality… for real, it really is… that’s why we spend so much time there, here in our Brave New World.

Finally!!! The greatest theological question ever raised is answered in this picture! Adam did NOT have a belly button, but he DID have a 5 o’clock shadow!! I’m finally gonna sleep good tonight.

There are curses that attend most callings. I’ve always admired family farmers for their courage, fortitude and industry. Agribusiness forces farmers off their lands and into circumstances they often find intolerable. We are reaping the results, more shame to us.

  • Comment by Laura Lee — July 7, 2010 @ 10:46 pm

I want this to be funny so badly because I hate Farmville notifications from my Facebook friends, but wasn’t Adam already a farmer, cultivating the earth? The curse was the weeds and trouble he would have accomplishing this work.

  • Comment by Angus — July 8, 2010 @ 2:21 am

Laura Lee, the cartoon is based on Genesis 3:23-24, but it’s really just a silly joke about a silly Facebook game. If you want, we can speculate about the details of Adam’s work in the Garden (that God planted), but I hope it really isn’t necessary to the satire’s success. I think we can all agree that there’s no similarity between the Garden of Eden and Farmville.

Eve found a talking serpent ……. UH OH!

P.S. No idea what’s up with the *HIDE* comment. I’ve been had!

  • Comment by Carol — July 8, 2010 @ 8:13 pm

Why do they always depict the “forbidden fruit” an apple? Applegrowers object to the derogatory association….

  • Comment by Suzanne — July 8, 2010 @ 10:51 pm

    @ “The REAL Suzanne”
    A double entendre, mayhaps? ;-)

  • Comment by CS — July 9, 2010 @ 12:19 am

    *HIDE*… it’s a Facebook thing.
    Love the cartoon.

  • Comment by Suzanne — July 9, 2010 @ 1:42 pm

Yes, CS is correct (forgive me, Suzanne, for being too vague) – def a fb thing..can’t tell you how many of those annoying games I’ve had to “hide” from my feed..my “HIDE” comment also happened to coincide with one “result” of the Fall ;-]
(and yes, VERY funny SS post, this!)

    Blessings :~)

    Now this…. THIS… IS HILARIOUS.

    Thank you!

  • Comment by bill — July 16, 2010 @ 2:40 pm

    Just wonderful!

  • Comment by lauradell2 — July 25, 2010 @ 1:13 pm

I thought *HIDE* was a reference to Adam and Eve, and maybe their fig leaves. Does anyone in Farmville have fig leaves enough for all sinners?

  • Comment by M Burke — September 14, 2010 @ 1:17 pm

Coming to the party late… but this is untrue. Farming is pre-fall (Gen 2:15) 15The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.

It’s HARD work because of the fall.

  • Comment by Angus — September 14, 2010 @ 4:02 pm

I’m pretty sure that Farmville isn’t the same as working the Garden of Eden. But what do I know?

  • Comment by elisabetta — December 8, 2010 @ 3:56 pm
