Bunyan: Paradise Gained versus Osteen: Paradise Lost
Bunyan: Narrow Gate Entered versus Osteen: Wide Gate Entered
Bunyan: Progressing Pilgrim versus Osteen: Worldly Wiseman

How does Joel Osteen figure in the “Christian History” diorama? Especially near John Bunyan?
Unless The Post Modern Heretics Display was across the street….

Joel hasn’t found the slough of despond yet. Everything’s just kinda funny.

Joel “Mr. By-Ends” Osteen
Comment by Scott Webber — May 20, 2010 @ 11:54 pm
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the demonstration of ‘Bunyan Heavey’ vs. ‘Osteen Light!’

And for those interested in the Bible Literature Swap Shop, we have a bargain going this week – Two, count ‘em: two! sentences of John Owen if you want to trade in 150 Jack Chick tracts.

Hmm, I didn’t know Joel was old enough to be considered “history”.

Somehow I see Joel Osteen, along with Rick Warren, Benny Hinn and company in the Pop Christian Icon Wax Museum. Better known as the “Heretical House of Horrors Wax Museum”…and Pop Christian Bookstore.
Or John Bunyan = solid food
Joel Osteen = pop tart theology

“And behind Mr. Olsteen you see all his followers, all named Pliable. They are about to fall off the path into the Slough of Despond.”

Pilgrim’s Progress vs. Your Best Life Now..we’re do we begin?
Comment by SavedGirl — May 22, 2010 @ 7:21 pm
That description is not very accurate. Joel Olsteen’s jokes are not even “kinda funny”. He REALLY needs a new script writer.

I agree, they aren’t even “kinda funny”…
Comment by Dominic — May 25, 2010 @ 2:52 am
Not funny? But they’re the best bits of what he says…

“And on your left, see Emergent Church Apostles…Mclaren, Bell, Jones…”
“And on you right see the Spurgeonator with his “Verse Disgronifier…”
Comment by Jet — June 2, 2010 @ 11:37 am
Shouldn’t John Bunyan be on the “right” and Osteen on the “left”?

As different as day and night…
