Remember, we have to protect our kids from any kind of evil. They shouldn’t know what the real world is like.

I’m not sure, but I don’t think the public school pagan pictured can read. It appears he is knocking at the door, however.

A zinger on home schoolers? You do like living dangerously.
Comment by Carol — May 11, 2010 @ 10:40 am
Well the sign that read “We actually use our brains” was not popular among the public school supporters. Poor little Joey had a difficult time understanding what “mumps” were…..

Ha, ha! I like Suzanne’s zinger on public schools. Great flip!
Comment by Jeff — May 11, 2010 @ 1:47 pm
Of course he can read. He didn’t come to play mumps.

Fortunately for Greg, he is able to recover from his mumps at home in the hands of his loving parents, while his poor friend had to endure forced immunizations for H1N1.
As usual, a careless jab at homeschooling based on stereotypes and not facts. The blank stare of Greg’s friend says a lot about where he spends most of his day….

You should read these “common homeschool stereotypes. http://homeschooling.about.com/ub/6/a/000134.htm I especially love number 13, and I agree. I’ve known some dumb ones as well. In defense of “stereotypes,” they get started because at least SOME of them are true in varying degrees.

After checking out “common homeschool stereotypes”,I think Greg exhibits #9 and #11!(We homeschooled. Our youngest is 20 and I STILL have #4,#7,#8,and #12…especially #12!)

The little fellow may have thought MUMPS was something spelled out…like ADD ADHD, PMS..etc.

I once used the “They’ll be unsocialized” to which my Homeschoolong parent friend replied, “That’s right, they won’t be socialists!”

Greg can play Measles and Rubella on the piano though!

Greg’s older brother was doing medical school on-line at home. Greg was his patient.

I disagree with Tim Sleeper on the first comment. In order for our kids to not cling to evil we should teach them good right? But not letting them KNOW about the evil world or just world is half teaching them reality.
Comment by rick — May 12, 2010 @ 7:03 am
I like the #1 stereotype. I describe my experiences as a 98 lb weakling at the hands of upper class bullies and ask them to justify the benefits of “socialization” in that context.

Those bands came in handy when little Greggie had a toothache…
Comment by Race Bannon — May 12, 2010 @ 9:43 pm
Although little Greg couldn’t play mumps, he quickly found out playing the Easter Bunny wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.
