Behold, the power of the spoken word.

Just a reminder of how some people are more caught up in the things of this world than God’s Word.

That’s the problem with using the old low resolution cameras…
First, this picture taken last week is still in black and white.
Second, that is the new “Hope for Today” Bible. This kid knows there is more truth in an old Superman comic than in any of Joel Osteen’s commentaries.

A young Robbie Bell dreams of Mars and Hills!

Here’s a question…Which is more valuable today? That old Superman comic…or the Bible?

He’s trying to verify the legend that Superman was modelled after Moses.

Someone should introduce this kid to the Reformed superheroes of the Amillennial Alliance: Captain Covenant, The Wycliff Warrior and Supralapsarian Man.

I thought the Bible was being very polite, considering.

Some people aren’t willing to listen to the still small voice. They’d rather listen to the loud comic book that enter’s the eyegate.

There have been some crackers – but for social/spiritual commentary on today’s world this has been brilliant. So good that it’s the first one I’ve shared on facebook (sorry for mentioning that place).

Wait a minute, isn’t he actually reading the “Illustrated SuperHero Preteen Bible”, new from Zondervan? It features Jesus, dressed as Superman, clearing the Temple. I think the KJV is just jealous over the pictures…or relevancy…or something…

Or, it could be the new Luther’s Small Catechism in comic book–I mean “graphic novel” form that is put out by Concordia Publishing House.

Pirate Christian Radio had a recording of Hinn saying that Adam was the first Superman and that he could fly (You would not believe Hinns explanation [hopefully you won't believe anything Hinn says]) so maybe the kid was handed this by his Hinn goupie parents?

*OUCH!*
Comment by Carol — March 22, 2010 @ 7:02 pm
Now if that is the Message Bible sitting on the table…the kid made the smarter choice….
Doesn’t say much for post modern Bible translations.

The true source of Mclaren’s kind of Christianity!

My Bible says the same to me when I spend too long drooling over the Sacred Sandwich!
