“and much study is a weariness of the flesh” (Ecc. 12:12).

Hard to think there were any churches left that taught “That much” Bible….

I’m glad they didn’t have to clean up Eutychus like that.

I guess it’s better to have your head explode from too much Bible than your heart grow cold from too little!

Were their heads the part that exploded or their hearts?

We’ve never had a visitor explode, but a few started to smolder upon learning that we “fence the table”.

I think my head exploded just hearing about this.

This is especially messy when you have those folks who bleed Bible when you scratch them.

For most today any Bible, is too much Bible. We would rather stroke our own egos and point out the stupidity of everyone who doesn’t agree with us.

    John:

I can’t speak for everyone, but a lot of the stuff on this site recognizes our common struggles and hopefully gives us the desire to strive for better.

I’ve declared this my new favorite blog. I just found you yesterday and spent a half hour cruising around laughing myself into a stomach ache. Now I’m going back and systematically working my way through the archives. I should have a 6-pack by the time I’m done. Thanks for the workout..physically, emotionally and yep, spiritually.

    John,
I can’t speak for everybody, but I don’t think ego stroking is a very accurate description of the hearts of those who have been distressed by all of the false teachings, false teachers and the horrible things being done in “church” in the name of Jesus and try to deal with it through humor.
If you can’t understand it as a coping mechanism dealing with all of the apostasy, then you can’t appreciate how it helps those of us who are grieved over the insanity that has taken over “Christendom”.
It’s not pointing out stupidity, but pointing out dangerous living.
