And neither the pastor nor the deacon suspected that the money had been taken by the church secretary (who was watching the meeting with her guilty eyes from the stairwell).

  2. John Says:

Luckily the local shops accepted Pastorcard.

  3. Brad Says:

The pastor is also going to place large intimidating men in dark suites and sun glasses at the exits holding deep baskets every week until the amount of cash missing has been replaced.

Or… He could just forgive them.

    A half-price sale on indulgences?

Maybe it was all the money they spent on the Summer Community Outreach’s “evangelistic” production of “Guys and Dolls,” for which everyone was in costume. I can just hear the segue into the Romans Road….

“See, that horse’s name was Paul Revere, which reminds us of the Apostle Paul… and if you just trust in Jesus, that big Guy in the Sky will say ‘Can do!’ to you, too!”

  6. John Says:

The opening hymn that week will be “I surrender all”.

The church secretary,(attired in her most drab frock),is determining whether to confess and repay the money,(which would involve pawning a new ring),or just wait until everyone is gone and do penance by crawling up and down the steps on her knees.

  8. Carol Says:

By the elaborate decoration in the “ministerial lounge” it appears that the extra cash brought in serves the pastor and deacons quite well. The church secretary snuck in to see the new decor as well as the dirty church checks…

  9. Joe Says:

Where’s Johannes Tetzel when you need him?

  10. Harry Says:

don’t you like Buffalo Falls Christian Church?

  11. Drew Says:

The pastor later confessed he had gambled the monthly tithes down at the track. He thought “War Horse” was a sure thing. It’s either that, or they’re discussing how much to spend on lottery tickets. (Late again)
