I do like the TULIP acronym, but this photo spoof cuts both ways. In my circle of churches, the BAPTISTS acronym is well known, and some writers have suggested that the acronym is not the end all to being Baptist. I don’t know if these leaders were treated like the monkey, but some did not like it.
Very funny spoof!

Steve, very good! Thanks for filling in some of the details concerning this historic event. You must have found that in Abner’s memoir, “Darwin Who?”
By the way, if you happen to know anything about Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp, I’d appreciate it. I can’t remember what A.P.E. and C.H.U.M.P. stand for.

B’NANA is very a-pealing.
However, theology is nothing to monkey around with.

My readers are a deep fount of valuable information. Thanks, guys!

As a-pealing as it might have been to some, it still caused a fracture in the Reformers and was briefly known as the “B’NANA Split of 1618″.

Whether it’s TULIPs or B’NANAs, one needs to be refarmed and refarming, else the crops – and their doctrines – will fail.

Indeed Manfred. And we should always stand firm for the Truth, lest we be guilty of being yellow in the Faith.

Abner didn’t help his cause any by being an open and avid smoker.

Abner is grandfather of Bubbles the Chimp… I don’t know what Abner would have thought of his grandson hobnobbing with the rich and famous though…

Hold the phone! WWay too many monkey’s uncles for my taste.

At least people on this site aren’t horsing around…

Don’t be fooled by the specs and pipe, Abner isn’t as studious as he appears…

Hey…what’s wrong with an acronym change? I think monkeys can make GREAT theologians. What’s the big deal? Well…okay, would gorillas be included? They don’t seem too bright cuz we have one as a deacon and he is always getting angry and…well nevermind. Darwin was a monkey, wasn’t he?
