I thought there was something romantic about the doctrines of grace.

This is TOOO funny! My 25 year old son has never had much time for dating (praise the Lord!). He wants to be married, but is not seeking a wife. I’ve been praying for the Lord to give him a godly woman. A few months ago, the son called. He had met a young woman. She lives 2,000 miles away from him (he’s 2,400 miles from us). They seemed to “connect” very easily. They started chatting. He discovered that SHE READS TOZER! And hs is smitten. He’s never met a gal who can or is willing to discuss biblical doctrines, until now. Reformed and reforming – he and she. It’s joy to his father’s heart. May it please the Lord to bring them together.

I fell deeply in love with my wife when I saw her Scofield 100 commemorative necklace.

Bill spent many long nights wondering if Mary was “predestined” to love him.

A young lady who reads Tozer???? Golly Gee, I didn’t think people under 40 knew who he was? Seriously, it’s wonderful to find people of like mind. Nothing worse than trying to be spiritual in a carnal place. Most “churchians”, when the hear the word holy, they think they need to buy new socks.

Carol,
I don’t yet know much about this young woman, but what I do know brings me joy – perhaps my son will have a godly wife! My son reads Piper, Jonathan Edwards, Spurgeon, and Tozer. The Lord grabbed him several years and drew him away from childish things. He and friend memorized some 70 verses of Scripture that tell the story of God’s redemption from Genesis to Revelation.
Truth never dies. Praise the Lord that some young folks find such pearls.

My only question would be: Did she fall for him because of his Martin Luther suit and Zwinglie pencil and notebook set?

Actually, Mary was drawn to Bill because (although his right arm obscures it in this photo) he was wearing a full five-point tulip in his lapel

Besides using her notebook for sermon notes and scripture memorization,Mary has been secretly practicing writing Bill’s last name as her own:”…Mary Knox…Mrs. Bill Knox…Mrs. William Knox…”,and of course, she’s already named their first son!

Great. My mind is running with Reformed Pick-up Lines.
“Hey baby. I noticed you reading about predestination and I must say that you are my density…I mean, my destiny.”

Steve, here’s another: “Your name must be Grace, because you are irresistible.”

Nice one Aspiring Theologian. At least I thought so. I just called my wife and tried that one on her. She said such lines will only lead to a total depravity of romance.

Notice how she’s holding the notebook as if to show him a note on the back like “Hey, meet me at the Church Library!”

Aww…takes me back. When I was in high school there was a strange student who would spend lunchtime reading the Bible in a corner of the some stairs. He wasn’t the cutest guy I’d ever seen, but I was very interested in meeting him.
We met.
Became friends.
Eventually (7 years later) got married.
D Yea!
