Angus, has the wife slowed down? The last report I saw in the “Possum News Gazette” was there is no mule in the county that could outrun her when the sanctity of her pies was involved. Rumor down here is that ole Humphrey can’t outrun his shadow.

Mike: Great question, and as a fellow NASMULE fan with Angus, I must say that Angus is not giving Humphrey his full due.

Once, I remember taking our annual Fall Hayride and Humphrey was pulling a cart full of kiddies. Things were going nice and easy until one of the kids pulled out a laser pointer and realized that Humphey has cat-like reflexes to red dots bouncing around in front of him.

That mule has a bit of giddy-up in him.

Thanks for asking. Humphrey’s performance on the track has been less than stellar. He has shown flashes of speed when running back to the barn to hide after consuming one of my wife’s fresh-baked pies that was cooling on the kitchen window sill. But then again my wife was chasing him with a broom at the time.
