The poker-playing dogs, immortalized in the famous paintings by Cassius Coolidge, announced last week that they have repented of their former ways and have replaced their Friday night poker game with a Wednesday night Bible study. Laddie (left), top dog of the study group, hopes that their new painting, “Dogs Reading Scripture,” will make them role models for other dogs caught in the vicious cycle of canine gambling. Says the collie leader, “Our next goal is to stop drinking out of the toilet.”

“Our next goal is to stop drinking out of the toilet.”

That would be a worthy goal for mankind, also.

The group grew very excited when they read about “the valley of dry bones”.

Dogs don’t have a particularly good press in the scriptures, though. Have they thought of that?

Canineans 2:11 speaks to this phenomenon.

Question for deep theological thought: If the dogs in 2Kings9 had been truly saved, would they have eaten Jezebel?
All answers must be original. No help from the Puritans.

They are reading from the “Contemporary Canine Translation”, which has “softened” the dog-related verses in the negative to ones making dogs feel better about themselves.

Such:” A Dog shall return to his regurgitated stomach contents.”

We don’t want to be too hard on “man’s best friends”.

    This comes from Zondervan!

The dog of 2 Kings 9 were saved because they obeyed the command of the Lord…..Dog on it, er, so to speak.
