It has been called, “Capital Punishment” by many.

This is a picture of the new fed tax and spend policies.

I think that this one is also an important one to reflect upon on this day:

When the righteous increase, the people rejoice,
but when the wicked rule, the people groan. (Proverbs 29:2, ESV)

Hmmm…Just a thought here, but John 1:3 clearly says, “All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.” (ESV)

Soooooo…that seems to tell me that money was made by God and therefore it should go back to God and NOT Caesar (govt.)

Caesar (govt.)owns NOTHING and makes NOTHING!

    Like I said…Just a thought.

Well, by that logic, the taxes that Jesus was talking about also belonged to God and not Caesar, but Jesus still said to give what belongs to Caesar to Caesar. Actually, by that logic, there is no such thing as theft since it all belongs to God anyway.

A more modern way of looking at it…
“Whose picture is on that dollar?”
    “Washington”
“Then give to Washington what belongs to Washington and to God what belongs to God.”

Yeah, but ‘ole George is dead and “don’t need no stinkin money!”
    HA!

We need to keep in mind that taxes are one of the things that we must obey not only the law of the land, but the commandments of God. Although I wished I could find a fish to aid in the payment of my taxes…but until Jesus returns and sets up His kingdom and “Taxes” are done away with…we have to live within our means.

Hmmmmmmm…Have we missed the sarcastic humor in my original post???

  • Comment by Eddie Eddings — April 16, 2009 @ 6:28 am

Well I am from Texas…which is just “taxes” spelled differently.
I keep hoping some catfish will cough up enough dough to my Uncle Sam. So far, it hasn’t happened. I owe him a bundle!

  • Comment by Eddie Eddings — April 16, 2009 @ 8:41 am

Instead of catfish…maybe I should start looking in the mouths of whale sharks!

I’m sorry, Reformed Pentecostal. We don’t allow sarcastic humor on this site. What were you thinking?

  • Comment by Reformed Pentecostal — April 16, 2009 @ 8:09 pm

Sorry Angus, I guess I wasn’t! ha ha…I love this site.

  • Comment by Carol — April 17, 2009 @ 3:12 pm

Although I do believe the “hand” that is outreached to grab up the taxes should be quite larger than depicted…as “Uncle Sam” has much to grab up…
