I couldn’t get the mental image out of my mind of some dude eating the bacon and then smearing the grease all over the pages as he thumbs through the Bible.
Ugh.
I don’t know about any of you but the thought just makes my stomach turn.

If I am not mistaken, George Barna and Frank Viola are coming out with a book entitled, “Bacon Christianity”. (it’s dedicated to Francis Bacon)

I remember a pastor of a church I once attended encouraging men to read their Bibles by inferring their wives would find it attractive. Could have stopped there, but he went on to be a bit risqué….they played a short sample of ’seductive’ music and the pastor said something about the men maybe getting ‘their bones jumped’ because they were reading the Bible. He has done this sad spiel more than once. The audience laughed…the desired reaction I am sure.
