Over and over I try and see deeper into things. To be honest it is difficult not to get oblivious by shallow nonsence. So this has in reality been a help to me. Thanks. :)

C'mon guys, "“My Big Fat Greek Church,” ..... known for its radical lyre band and Greek chorus, plush coliseum seating, and ample chariot parking.".....?
Doesn't this just sound like wishful thinking? Are we trying to discern the very first post-modern church movement in a 2000 year old excavation? Give me a break, this can't be serious. Why do we apply our modern thinking to ancient times and always reckon we're now more enlightened? Maybe some have already “Discovered the Zeus in Themselves” and are now divinely appointed to so comment on ancient relics. In 10 years time these comments about the excavation will look really childish and ridiculous!
Can somebody even tell me if we've excavated the right Demas here? Imagine excavating in 2000 years time and finding something about "George" - ahhh.....which George? George Harrison, George Clooney, George Bush, George of the Jungle?

[quote]There are some churches that are participants out of sheer ignorance, but there also exist “change agents” in the post-modern church that are actively and intentionally watering down the message of the gospel in order to prepare many for the great deception as written about in Matthew 24:24-25. It is the duty of every Christian to become informed and to be able to discern what is happening before they too are deceived.

Please allow me to clarify. Of course, I am not seriously comparing Bono to Hitler. It was indeed a play on words to make a point. However, the God clearly gives us a tool with which we can ascertain whether or not someone "appears" to be a Christian. Matthew 7:16 clearly states "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?" We also know that 2 Corinthians 6:14-16 says "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and unrighteousness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: 'I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people."

While it is true that I have never met Bono personally as stated by MM, I can assume that he is not working towards the best interests of the Gospel of Jesus Christ due to the "fruits" and associations that he has chosen. It is in my estimation that the possibility of Bono being an occultist is extremely high (or as I stated earlier "through and through"). However, the possibility still remains (however remote) he is just a participant in the "new age" agenda. Regardless, his fruit is suspect.

I agree wholeheartedly with Carol who seems to understand the true threat we are facing today. I actively study the occult (I do not recommend it to most) in order to understand the plans of our enemy (Satan). Please understand that there has been a subversive movement that has invaded our churches and wreaked havoc on the Christian church over the last few decades.
"Bono is part of a system that is destroying lives spiritually"? What system is that, exactly?
I bet not one of you has met the guy and talked to him about his spiritual life or his belief in Christ. Why are you so quick to condemn? oiy

Bono is of the world and part of the "system" that is trying to destroy the foundation of the "old order" which is ONE God and only one way to God, the Lord Jesus. He's the bridge between the world leaders and the people. For the dumbed down sheeple, they think he's something "good". For those who lack Biblical discernment, he appears to be something spiritual and for most people, hearing the word "spiritual" automatically makes them godly, which isn't true. Someone can be deeply spiritual, but those "spirits" they believe in are demonic and unholy. Rick Warren appears to be a "Christian" because of the word games he plays on people, again, who are not Biblically discerning. So when the two join hands, they appear to be sound and acceptable.

To say Bono is compared to Hitler, a play on words, one may think it's an extreme, but spiritually speaking, Bono is part of a system that is destroying lives spiritually. While he may not literally be killing them one by one, systematically he's killing their belief systems. IMHO that's just as evil as physically putting people to death!

Let's not go too far here! I wouldn't go to Bono to get Christian teaching (to be fair he doesn't claim to be a Christian teacher or church leader). However, whether he has saving faith or not is for God to decide.

I would be very surprised if he is sitting in a circle chanting new age/occultic invocations with Michael Moore (who is also a world server according to their website!!!!) whenever there is a full moon and it would take a lot more than someone's posting his picture on their website to convince me! I mean seriously - he may not be a paragon of sound evangelical teaching and church leaders should not be fawning all over him just because he's famous but to say that "calling Bono a Christian is like calling Hitler a Rabbi" is going a bit far IMHO.
