LOL! Sunday, our preacher (two elders, preaching through Genesis) was in Gen 19:15 – 26 and pointed out verse 16 “Lot lingered”. Paul (our preacher) explained how Lot had sought out Sodom and grown accustomed to it and he warned us not to look down our noses at Lot, but examine our own lives to see how worldly we might be – and repent thereof.

How wonderful it is to be convicted by the Word and Spirit of God! He is the Lord, forever His name be praised!

    Good advice.

This would make any Word of Faith follower very unhappy.

The reason I like this picture is that, while I was living in Germany I had a brand new Mini Cooper S (that I was making payments on…) and only two children. I felt very convicted that I needed to focus on my family, not stuff (not that the car would keep me from the narrow gate). I got some flack from fellow Christian brothers when I commented on my conviction on family over cool toys. I went with my conviction though, sold the car and now have baby number four due in April. The car was cool and fast, but I am much more happier now and quite content!

Yes, the WOF movement would not so much like this ;o) Oh well, we can’t take it with us anyway.
